Maintenance & Housekeeping

· General Description: The main duty of the Maintenance staff is the upkeep on the common area. However, as time permits, they may also perform handyman-type services for individual residents (see ancillary charges). Hours of availability are Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.

· Fireplaces: Fireplaces are designed to accommodate gas logs. They are not intended to be a primary heat source, but merely to add ambiance. They should not be left unattended.

 

· Heating & Air Conditioning: Each multi-storied building is equipped with a central boiler system which provides heat and hot water. Individual condominiums have their own air-conditioning units and the thermostat controls both heating and air conditioning.

· Housekeeping: The basic cleaning includes the kitchen, bathroom(s), changing and laundering bed and bath linens, light dusting, vacuuming and sweeping of floors. Each one-bedroom condominium receives approximately one hour of service and each two-bedroom, approximately one-and-a-half hours every other week.

· Keys: Individual condominium keys that are part of the original master key system also allow entry to the main external doors of the specific residential building and to the pool area. For emergency purposes, duplicate key, including mailbox keys, for each unit are kept in a locked cabinet in the Assisted Living office which is staffed 24 hours a day.

· Landscaping: Exterior landscaping is the responsibility of the Association and any questions or request should be addressed to the Director of Maintenance.

· Laundry: A mesh bag will be provided for your bed and bath linen, which is sent every other week to a local laundry and returned to you a few days later. This is a fluff and fold service. Laundering of personal items, and dry cleaning services, are also available for an additional charge.

· Move Ins/Outs: If you are planning to move, or to have large items of furniture delivered, please contact the Administrative office in advance so that our Maintenance staff can arrange to have the elevators padded. Also use small moving vans when moving, as the larger ones do not fit inside our parking lot.

· Pest Control: The Association is responsible for pest control of interior and exterior common areas. If you wish to schedule limited pest control services for your own unit, please contact Maintenance.

· Window Cleaning: Cleaning of exterior and common area window is included in maintenance services provided by the Association. Residents will be notified in advance of scheduled service.
